General Minimum Requirements

▪ Candidates must have passed at least 5 subjects (not necessarily during the same examination session), including English Language, with an E symbol or better on the NSSC Ordinary level and have obtained a total score of at least 20 points on the Evaluation Scale. Where candidates offer more than five (5) subjects the best five (5), including English Language, will be counted.

▪ In addition to the normal admission criteria for enrolment, the College reserves the right to restrict the number of students being admitted to a particular Programme by means of selection. Candidates may generally be admitted to the College for instruction and training subject to such specific departmental requirements as determined by Board of Academic and Students Affairs for Admission to a specific Programme on the following conditions:

▪ Current and continuing students may enroll for courses on the 2nd year level before having completed all requirements for the award of the Diploma, provided that all pre-requisites for such courses are met and that the progression rules of a particular Programme are satisfied.

▪ Applicants from outside the DDI or those who are not current students, must be in possession of a recognised Diploma (NQF Level 6), or its equivalent as determined by Senate, provided that Senate may require such applicants to do additional study before allowing them to enroll for the Diploma level 7

Candidates should be in possession of a Diploma NQF Level 5 or equivalent. If the candidate does not meet any of the abovementioned requirements, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs may determine final admission status for the candidate. Prior learning may be considered in this case.

Candidates must have passed at least 6 subjects (not necessarily during the same examination session), including English Language, with an E symbol or better on the JSC and have obtained a total score of at least 20 points on the Evaluation Scale. Where candidates offer more than five (6) subjects the best five (6), including English Language, will be counted

Candidates must have passed at least 5 subjects (not necessarily during the same examination session), including English Language, with an E symbol or better on the NSSC Ordinary level and have obtained a total score of at least 18 points on the Evaluation Scale. Where candidates offer more than five (5) subjects the best five (5), including English Language, will be counted, Candidates should be in possession of a Certificate NQF Level 4 or equivalent. If the candidate does not meet any of the above-mentioned requirements, the Vice Rector for AcademicAffairs may determine final admission status for the candidate. Prior learning may be considered in this case.

Candidates should be in possession of a National Vocational Certificate Level 2 or equivalent. If the candidate does not meet any of the abovementioned requirements, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs may determine final admission status for the candidate. Candidate must have at least Grade 12 certificate with 20 points, OR Grade 10 Certificate with 18 points, both with an E symbol in English in five subjects, OR 23 years of Mature Age entry.
